Digital platform to connect and activate the global maritime innovation ecosystem

Project leads  The project is driven by MarInn, an initiative founded by Argyris Stasinakis, a maritime tech entrepreneur and startup mentor, with the support of key stakeholders from the international maritime innovation ecosystem.  Project description  Maritime Innovation Network is a digital platform designed to address a structural challenge within the maritime sector: ecosystem fragmentation and the difficulty of efficiently connecting startups, investors, corporates and entrepreneurship support programmes. Although maritime startups are developing solutions in key areas such as digitalisation, operational efficiency, green fuels, decarbonisation, cybersecurity, route safety and crew welfare, many of these initiatives struggle to scale and commercialise their solutions.  The platform acts as a centralised digital hub that enables structured interaction between founders, investors, corporates, incubators, accelerators, mentors and specialised service providers. It allows the creation of standardised startup and founder profiles, access to harmonised progress data and the generation of connections based on real market needs, contributing to improved investment and collaboration opportunities.  The project also introduces specific functionalities tailored to each type of ecosystem actor. Startups can connect with potential clients, mentors and investors; corporates have a dedicated environment to identify emerging solutions, launch pilot projects or establish commercial agreements; investors gain access to comparable and up-to-date data to support decision-making; and acceleration and incubation programmes can manage calls, cohorts and project follow-up within the same platform. In addition, Maritime Innovation Network includes dedicated spaces for industry challenges, where companies and organisations can publish specific needs and open them to the innovation community.  The platform has completed its initial launch and the website is already operational with contributions from ecosystem participants. Full networking and management functionalities are expected to…
