We had the participation of <strong>Xavier Lesauvage<\/strong> who spoke about &#8220;<strong>Innovative leadership with impact&#8221;<\/strong> and two startups, <strong>Syndeno and Beamagine<\/strong>, who explained the application of their solutions to the port world.<\/p>\n<p>The event began with the presentation of <strong>the results of the Open Innovation Cycle 2021<\/strong> by <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/in\/carmetarrago\/\">Carme Tarrag\u00f3<\/a><\/strong>, Head of the Department of Studies and Innovation of the APT and Coordinator of SOM-INN PORT.<\/p>\n<p>This year&#8217;s cycle was different from those that had been carried out previously. The main objectives were to promote the <strong>axes of Competitive Surveillance, Training, Networking and Communication.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-6818 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/sominnport.cat\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/12\/agora1-297x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"297\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/sominnport.cat\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/12\/agora1-297x300.jpg 297w, https:\/\/sominnport.cat\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/12\/agora1.jpg 655w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 297px) 100vw, 297px\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Carme Tarrag\u00f3, explaining the results of the Open Innovation Cycle 2021<\/p>\n<p>In relation to the <strong>Competitive Surveillance Axis,<\/strong> we have created an <strong>observatory of innovation trends in the port world<\/strong>, to give visibility to projects of the member organizations of SOM-INN PORT, as well as to generate knowledge on the state of the art of port innovation. There has been a presentation<a href=\"https:\/\/sominnport.cat\/en\/continuing-with-the-calendar-of-activities-programmed-in-the-cycle-of-open-innovation-2021-we-have-celebrated-the-day-of-innovation-projects-of-the-members-of-som-inn-port-on-the-9th-of-november-in\/\"><strong> session of innovation projects of Som-Inn Port members<\/strong><\/a>, and visits have been organized to events, congresses and important centers in the world of innovation, such as<a href=\"https:\/\/sominnport.cat\/en\/som-inn-port-at-4yfn-inspiring-us-to-keep-innovating\/\"><strong> 4YFN and Mobile World Congress<\/strong><\/a>; <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/sominnport.cat\/en\/som-inn-port-provided-members-and-innovation-agents-of-the-ecosystem-with-the-opportunity-to-participate-in-the-smart-city-expo-world-congress-scewc-and-smart-ports-piers-for-future-2021\/\">Smart City Expo World Congress and Smart Ports<\/a><\/strong>; and <a href=\"https:\/\/sominnport.cat\/en\/som-inn-port-at-tech-barcelona-the-centre-of-barcelonas-technological-ecosystem\/\"><strong>TECH Barcelona.<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-6830 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/sominnport.cat\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/12\/agora5-300x169.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"644\" height=\"363\" srcset=\"https:\/\/sominnport.cat\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/12\/agora5-300x169.png 300w, https:\/\/sominnport.cat\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/12\/agora5.png 567w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 644px) 100vw, 644px\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>Two sessions of the SOM-INN PORT Agora<\/strong> were also held.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-6833 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/sominnport.cat\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/12\/agora-6-300x169.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"634\" height=\"357\" srcset=\"https:\/\/sominnport.cat\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/12\/agora-6-300x169.png 300w, https:\/\/sominnport.cat\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/12\/agora-6.png 567w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 634px) 100vw, 634px\" \/>With regard to the<strong> Communication Axis<\/strong>, a Content Plan has been drawn up to dynamize the SOM-INN PORT digital community based on four pillars:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Pillar 1 Innovation Agents:<\/strong> Three <strong>&#8220;Interviews with Innovation Agents&#8221;<\/strong> of SOM-INN PORT have been carried out, who have explained their experiences and the results obtained from their participation in the activities organized in the ecosystem. <a href=\"https:\/\/sominnport.cat\/en\/innovation-agents-interview-with-anna-navarro-and-nuri-bordas\/\"><strong>Anna Navarro and N\u00faria Bordas<\/strong><\/a> explained their example of Intra-entrepreneurship and their idea that was selected in the Ports 4.0 call.<a href=\"https:\/\/sominnport.cat\/en\/innovation-agents-interview-with-marina-almazan\/\"><strong> Marina Almaz\u00e1n<\/strong><\/a> explained her example of entrepreneurship with the creation of her company, and<a href=\"https:\/\/sominnport.cat\/en\/innovation-agents-interview-with-eduardo-sanudo-general-manager-of-vopak-terquimsa-s-a\/\"> <strong>Eduardo Sa\u00f1udo<\/strong><\/a>, who is also a member of the Innovation Commission of SOM-INN PORT, explained the importance of innovation for Vopak Terquimsa.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-6836 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/sominnport.cat\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/12\/agora7-300x169.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"576\" height=\"325\" srcset=\"https:\/\/sominnport.cat\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/12\/agora7-300x169.png 300w, https:\/\/sominnport.cat\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/12\/agora7.png 567w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 576px) 100vw, 576px\" \/><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Pillar 2 Observatory:<\/strong> 15 port<a href=\"https:\/\/sominnport.cat\/en\/external-projects\/\"> <strong>innovation projects external to the ecosystem<\/strong><\/a> and 11<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/sominnport.cat\/en\/som-inn-port-member-projects\/\"> innovation projects of Som-Inn Port&#8217;s own members have been disseminated.<\/a><\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-6839 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/sominnport.cat\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/12\/agora8-300x169.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"818\" height=\"461\" srcset=\"https:\/\/sominnport.cat\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/12\/agora8-300x169.png 300w, https:\/\/sominnport.cat\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/12\/agora8.png 640w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 818px) 100vw, 818px\" \/><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Pillar 3 Events: posts\/news on the lessons learned<\/strong> from the inspiring talks, pieces of training and events attended have been published on the website, the digital platform and social networks of SOM-INN PORT and the APT Intranet. <strong>Videos of the activities carried out have also been uploaded to the digital platform.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-6842 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/sominnport.cat\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/12\/agora9-300x169.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"707\" height=\"399\" srcset=\"https:\/\/sominnport.cat\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/12\/agora9-300x169.png 300w, https:\/\/sominnport.cat\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/12\/agora9.png 567w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 707px) 100vw, 707px\" \/><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Pillar 4 Learning from innovation<\/strong>, three interviews were conducted with experts from outside the ecosystem who shared their experience of innovation in their organizations: <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/sominnport.cat\/en\/innovation-learnings-interview-with-margarida-lopez\/\">Margarida L\u00f3pez, Head of Innovation at Transports Metropolitans de Barcelona<\/a>; <a href=\"https:\/\/sominnport.cat\/en\/marc-centellas-innovation-gebro\/\">Marc Centellas, Manager at Laboratorios Gebro Pharma<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/sominnport.cat\/en\/innovation-learnings-interview-with-maria-fernanda-gonzalez-gutierrez\/\">Maria Fernanda Gonz\u00e1lez, CEO&amp;Founder of Fregata Space.<\/a><\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Carme Tarrag\u00f3 highlighted the <strong>importance of people&#8217;s involvement in innovation.<\/strong> In each cycle we have the opportunity to add new participants<strong>.<\/strong> This year four new members have joined the ecosystem. Currently, <strong>SOM-INN PORT open innovation<\/strong> community is made up of<strong> 38 members and 63 innovation agents.<\/strong> It is worth mentioning that the main characteristic of this cycle is that most of the activities have been open to encourage people outside the ecosystem to follow us and participate.<\/p>\n<p>After each activity, <strong>satisfaction surveys<\/strong> were carried out, which helped us to improve the experience of the participants. The results of the surveys have shown that <strong>the degree of satisfaction has been high<\/strong> both in terms of content and organization.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-6845 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/sominnport.cat\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/12\/agora10-300x169.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"673\" height=\"379\" srcset=\"https:\/\/sominnport.cat\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/12\/agora10-300x169.png 300w, https:\/\/sominnport.cat\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/12\/agora10.png 616w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 673px) 100vw, 673px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>As a summary of the <strong>three cycles of open innovation<\/strong> carried out so far in SOM-INN PORT, the indicators give us the following data:<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-6848 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/sominnport.cat\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/12\/agora11-300x169.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"707\" height=\"398\" srcset=\"https:\/\/sominnport.cat\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/12\/agora11-300x169.png 300w, https:\/\/sominnport.cat\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/12\/agora11.png 567w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 707px) 100vw, 707px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The results obtained in the first call and the characteristics of the second call of <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/ports40.es\/\">Ports 4.0<\/a> <\/strong>were also explained. These are calls for public aid, provided by the Port Authorities, to promote innovation and entrepreneurship in the port world:<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-6851 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/sominnport.cat\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/12\/agora12-300x169.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"628\" height=\"354\" srcset=\"https:\/\/sominnport.cat\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/12\/agora12-300x169.png 300w, https:\/\/sominnport.cat\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/12\/agora12.png 624w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 628px) 100vw, 628px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Carme Tarrag\u00f3 encouraged the members of SOM-INN PORT to participate in this new call and to publicise it so that start-ups, spin-offs and companies can present their proposals for innovation in the port world. The Port Authority of Tarragona will support as a facilitating agent the proposals that may be of interest to the Port of Tarragona.<\/p>\n<p>This was followed by the <strong>Inspirational Talk &#8220;Innovative leadership with impact&#8221;<\/strong> by <a href=\"http:\/\/linkedin.com\/in\/xavier-lesauvage-95834b\"><strong>Xavier Lesauvage.<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The speaker began by explaining the three main elements needed to innovate. Firstly, having an <strong>innovative culture<\/strong> within the organization. Secondly, to have a <strong>clear strategy<\/strong> and finally to have <strong>established enabler processes<\/strong> to fulfill the strategy.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-6854 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/sominnport.cat\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/12\/agora13-300x248.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"248\" srcset=\"https:\/\/sominnport.cat\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/12\/agora13-300x248.png 300w, https:\/\/sominnport.cat\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/12\/agora13.png 597w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Xavier Lesauvage during his inspirational talk.<\/p>\n<p>He also emphasized the importance of separating the operational world from the world of innovation. Both are necessary elements within organizations, yet they are difficult to combine. On the one hand, the operational world is a barrier to innovation because it slows down processes. On the other hand, the world of innovation often hinders the operational world because it seeks to change established processes.<\/p>\n<p>Finally, Xavier Lesauvage gave a series of tips on how to lead innovation within an organization:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>It is necessary to connect teams with different profiles and encourage the crossover of knowledge.<\/li>\n<li>Small teams should be empowered and allowed to work autonomously.<\/li>\n<li>You have to encourage the ability to explore, curiosity is an essential characteristic for any innovation leader.<\/li>\n<li>Identify opportunities and have a forward-looking perspective.<\/li>\n<li>It is important to have the ability to move in uncertainty, as it is usually a common element in all innovation projects.<\/li>\n<li>Creativity tends to tend to be dispersed, which is why it is necessary to limit it to challenges in order to focus on needs.<\/li>\n<li>The output of innovation must be measured.<\/li>\n<li>We must be able to constantly reinvent ourselves and adapt to market changes.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-6895 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/sominnport.cat\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/12\/core-300x206.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"617\" height=\"424\" srcset=\"https:\/\/sominnport.cat\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/12\/core-300x206.png 300w, https:\/\/sominnport.cat\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/12\/core.png 651w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 617px) 100vw, 617px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Afterwards, the startups<strong> Syndeno<\/strong> and <strong>Beamagine<\/strong> made their pitches.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/in\/alberto-iglesias-munoz\/\"><strong>Alberto Iglesias<\/strong><\/a>, CEO of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.syndeno.com\/\"><strong>Syndeno<\/strong><\/a>, explained their solution and their vision for the future. Beamagine is a startup that has a technology for detecting objects in the environment. It uses 3D sensors that can be combined with thermal, RGB and polarimetric cameras. Thanks to this technology, bulk cargo volumes on a ship could be monitored, remote crane operations could be carried out and autonomous ship navigation could be facilitated.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-6866 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/sominnport.cat\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/12\/jordi-syn-225x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"376\" height=\"499\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><em>Jordi Riu, CEO Beamagine<\/em><\/p>\n<p>This 10th session of the Agora brings to a close the SOM-INN PORT Open Innovation Cycle 2021. Carme Tarrag\u00f3 thanked the members, innovation agents, speakers and trainers for their participation in the activities organized this year, and the INDUCT team, Ignasi Clos, Pep Orellana and Laia Cotet for their collaboration in organizing the activities.
