Round table at the Smart City Congress"},"content":{"rendered":"<p data-start=\"4504\" data-end=\"4963\">Since 2023, the Port Authority of Tarragona has implemented the use of drones to improve efficiency across multiple areas of port management, including security and perimeter surveillance, emergency management, and support for environmental monitoring. Drones are also used in processes related to the characterization and management of bulk solid stockpiles, topography and cartography operations, and the transmission of secure real-time images.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"4965\" data-end=\"5416\">Our experience in the deployment and use of drones represents an illustrative use case of how this technology can enhance the efficiency of port processes. For this reason, within the framework of the Smart City Expo World Congress, held at Fira Barcelona on November 6, at the stand of the Government of Catalonia, the Port of Tarragona and SOM-INN PORT organized a round table entitled <em data-start=\"5353\" data-end=\"5416\">\u201cDrones applied to port management at the Port of Tarragona.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"5418\" data-end=\"5842\">The round table featured contributions from David Ferr\u00e9, Co-Founder &amp; CPTO at AmeliaHub; Lu\u00eds Moreno, Head of Support Area and Technical Projects at SENASA; Anal\u00eda L\u00f3pez, Managing Director of the Sensor Engineering &amp; UAS Division at ITG; and Carme Tarrag\u00f3, Head of the Innovation and Blue Economy Department of the Port Authority of Tarragona. The session was moderated by Ignasi Clos, Co-Founder &amp; Managing Partner at SDLI.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"5844\" data-end=\"5996\">The preparation of the round table also involved Jes\u00fas Teva, Head of the Security and Self-Protection Plans Division at the Port Authority of Tarragona.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"5998\" data-end=\"6322\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-18014 size-large\" src=\"https:\/\/sominnport.cat\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/Screenshot-2025-12-30-at-15.12.21-1024x454.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"1024\" height=\"454\" srcset=\"https:\/\/sominnport.cat\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/Screenshot-2025-12-30-at-15.12.21-1024x454.png 1024w, https:\/\/sominnport.cat\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/Screenshot-2025-12-30-at-15.12.21-300x133.png 300w, https:\/\/sominnport.cat\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/Screenshot-2025-12-30-at-15.12.21-768x340.png 768w, https:\/\/sominnport.cat\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/Screenshot-2025-12-30-at-15.12.21-1536x681.png 1536w, https:\/\/sominnport.cat\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/Screenshot-2025-12-30-at-15.12.21.png 1979w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\" data-start=\"5998\" data-end=\"6322\">Round table participants<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\" data-start=\"5998\" data-end=\"6322\"><br data-start=\"6026\" data-end=\"6029\" \/>During the session, it was explained that the use of drones at the Port of Tarragona to improve port management is framed within the Port\u2019s Strategic Plan and Innovation Plan, with the support provided by SOM-INN PORT as an open innovation ecosystem that drives the Port\u2019s innovation projects.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"6324\" data-end=\"6537\">The progress achieved at the Port of Tarragona through the use of drones was detailed, along with upcoming implementations linked to the two commercial projects currently under development and funded by Ports 4.0:<\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"6539\" data-end=\"7306\">\n<li data-start=\"6539\" data-end=\"7029\">\n<p data-start=\"6541\" data-end=\"7029\"><strong data-start=\"6541\" data-end=\"6564\">AMELIA PORT Project<\/strong>: The objective of this project is to implement an integrated software solution to support port management through a system of automated drones, specifically aimed at terminals and port authorities. The project seeks to improve efficiency in the management of bulk solid stockpiles, vehicles, and containers, as well as to monitor the impact of storms on port infrastructure, in addition to other port security-related aspects such as vehicle and personnel control.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"7031\" data-end=\"7306\">\n<p data-start=\"7033\" data-end=\"7306\"><strong data-start=\"7033\" data-end=\"7052\">CAPITAN Project<\/strong>: The main objective of this project is to evolve ITG\u2019s \u201cDronesuite\u201d software into a commercial solution tailored to ports, enabling the automation and optimization of the use of port authority airspace while the number of drones increases exponentially.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p data-start=\"7308\" data-end=\"7781\">The solution will include advanced <strong data-start=\"7343\" data-end=\"7354\">U-Space<\/strong> functionalities for the strategic and tactical management of unmanned aircraft traffic, as well as current port data sources.
