The objective of this project is the implementation of an integrated software solution to support port management through a system of automated drones, specifically designed for port terminals and port authorities. The project aims to improve efficiency in the management of bulk solid cargo, vehicles and containers, as well as to monitor the impact of severe weather events on port infrastructure. It also addresses other port security aspects, such as vehicle and personnel control.<\/p>\n

The project kick-off meeting took place on 2 December.<\/p>\n
\u2013 CAPITAN Project.<\/strong> Selected with 93 points. The Port of Tarragona participates as a facilitating agent.<\/p>\n The main objective of the project is to evolve ITG\u2019s \u201cDronesuite\u201d software into a commercial solution tailored specifically for ports, enabling the automation and optimisation of port authorities\u2019 airspace management in a context of exponential growth in drone operations.<\/p>\n The solution will include advanced U-Space functionalities for the strategic and tactical management of unmanned aerial traffic, as well as the integration of current port data sources. This will enable safe and efficient coordination of port airspace, while allowing controlled access for third-party operators, reducing the workload of port authority staff and fostering the implementation of drone-based use cases by companies within the port ecosystem seeking greater efficiency and sustainability.<\/p>\n \u2013 C-4.40 INTRASEC Project.<\/strong> Selected with 88 points. The Port of Tarragona participates through a letter of support, while the Port Authority of Castell\u00f3n acts as the facilitating agent.<\/p>\n The objective of this project is to digitalise road transport of containers from their point of origin to the port by developing a commercial platform that connects freight from freight forwarders and shipping lines, intelligently allocates loads to the trucking community, manages routes and traffic through AI-based algorithms, and provides transparent management of pricing and services, among other features. In the future, the system is expected to incorporate predictive models based on the analysis of the data generated.<\/p>\n The award process for the 2024 pre-commercial projects call is currently underway. In this call, the Port of Tarragona participates with two projects as a facilitating agent and with six projects through letters of support. A new Ports 4.0 call for Ideas and Commercial Projects is expected to be launched at the end of December.
