From 3 to 6 March, the 2025 editions of the Mobile World Congress and the FYFN were held at Fira Barcelona’s L’Hospitalet de Llobregat facilities. As in previous years, SOM-INN PORT wanted to be present, in order to learn first-hand about the main developments in innovation and entrepreneurship presented at two of the most important congresses in these fields worldwide.<\/p>\n

This year, the major themes that have framed the 19th edition of the <\/strong>MWC<\/strong><\/a> and how they will affect the industries and societies of tomorrow have been: 5G Inside, Connect X, AI+, Enterprise Re-invented, Game Changers and Our Digital DNA.<\/em><\/p>\n

At MWC 2025, with the slogan “Converge. Connect. Create”,<\/strong> attended by 109,000 visitors, from 205 countries and territories, and 2,900 exhibitors, sponsors and partners<\/em>.<\/p>\n

The Catalan representation was made up of 93 companies, technology centres, entities and startups, which held 3,200 meetings and expected to generate 22.7 million euros in turnover or investment raised in the coming months, 23% more than in 2024, according to the Secretariat for Digital Policies of the Generalitat de Catalunya.<\/p>\n

GSMA, the organiser of the congress, has indicated that progress is slowly being \u00a0made towards parity, given that up to 41% of the more than 1,200 speakers and opinion leaders who have participated in the technology fair this year have been women. However, as for the attendees, the figure is still low, representing only 27%.<\/p>\n

Simultaneously and associated with the MWC, the 11th edition\u00a0 of <\/strong>4YFN<\/strong><\/a> was also held, the most important entrepreneurship event in Europe, which had more than 1,000 exhibitors. 4YFN is a unique space for startups <\/em>\u00a0to connect with investors, companies and institutions in a privileged environment of entrepreneurship and exchange, to advance in the rapid world of innovation and promote new businesses.<\/p>\n

Artificial intelligence, with the slogan “AI XL”,<\/strong> has also been the backbone of this edition of 4YFN. AI has been the central theme in the presentations, conferences and pitches that were held, which were attended by SOM-INN PORT, such as the “Opening Session”, “Building a Culture of Innovation in Large Enterprises”, “From Reactive to Proactive: IA as the New Frontier of Corporate Innovation”,<\/em> and “AI XL Series (I): Gen AI’s Power Play – A New Era of Productivity”.<\/p>\n

Spaces for talks and pitching at 4YFN.<\/em><\/p>\n

Within the framework of 4YFNM, SOM-INN PORT was also able to get in touch with different companies and start-ups in the field of the blue economy, including the company Seabots, present at the ACCI\u00d3 stand, with which the Port Authority of Tarragona acts as a facilitating agent of the “Data Sentinel” project. This innovative project is aimed at developing a comprehensive solution for the efficient collection and analysis of marine data, using an advanced multiroboto system to improve decision-making in port operations. The project was submitted to the Ports 4.0 call for commercial projects and is currently in the evaluation phase.<\/p>\n
