The project is the result of the integration between Sedna<\/strong>, a UK-based<\/strong> company specialised in digital solutions for managing communications in the maritime sector, and PortPal<\/strong>, a Spanish<\/strong> company specialised in digital solutions for managing port agency operations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Project description<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

This innovative project applies artificial intelligence to the management of communications and documents associated with vessel calls<\/strong>, with the aim of transforming unstructured information into operational data that can be integrated into digital vessel call management processes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The solution integrates Sedna<\/strong> and PortPal<\/strong> to analyse emails and documents managed by port agencies or shipping agents in relation to vessel calls. This type of communication may contain information about different services and activities that need to be coordinated during a vessel call.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Through artificial intelligence, the platform identifies and extracts relevant information from emails and documents, including aspects related to crew changes, fuel supply (bunkering), cash-to-master (CTM), delivery of spare parts and other requests for services to the vessel<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The extracted information is linked to PortPal’s<\/strong> digital vessel call management processes, reducing the need to manually enter data and making it easier to turn the information contained in communications into structured workflows.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The main innovation lies in applying generative artificial intelligence and information extraction technologies to a routine administrative process within port operations<\/strong>. Rather than simply managing communications, the solution makes it possible to transform the content of emails and documents into structured information linked to operational processes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This approach can help reduce manual tasks related to information processing and facilitate the coordination of the different services involved in a vessel call.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The integration therefore represents an example of the application of AI to administrative and document management processes in the port sector, where a significant amount of operational information is still generated in unstructured formats such as emails and documents.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The main objective is to apply artificial intelligence to the management of communications and documents related to vessel calls in order to transform unstructured information into usable operational data.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The initiative aims to reduce the need for manual data entry, facilitate the integration of information into digital vessel call management processes and improve the coordination of port services related to vessel operations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
