Water drones for waste collection in Catalan Ports

Project description

The Port of Badalona has been the first to join the initiative “Let’s clean up the ports” promoted by the Catalan Nautical Cluster. The aim of this initiative is to collect surface water waste from all Catalan Ports within a period of four years. The cleaning of the port waters will be carried out using water drones manufactured by the company Ona Safe and Clean. These are boats capable of filtering an area of 5,000m2 per hour.

Project objective

This action promoted by the Catalan Nautical Cluster has been carried out in response to the deterioration of the water due to the activity within the ports. Aware of the importance of preserving the environment, the aim is to eliminate surface waste from the waters of all the ports of Catalonia in four years.
