Innovation Agents of the prototyping cells presented their prototypes, and the results obtained with the validation previously carried out with potential users, to the managers and representatives of the member entities of the Open Innovation Ecosystem of the Port of Tarragona. This took place during the 5th session of the Agora of Som-Inn Port, the 19th of June, at the Teatret del Serrallo in the Port of Tarragona.
End of the Sprint phase of Som-Inn Port
This phase has been developed through the Design Sprint methodology ,adapted to the needs and the context of the Port of Tarragona, which seeks to tangibilize in an agile way, and especially validate with the end user, the ideas and creative concepts that were generated during the co-creation phase using the Design Thinking methodology, based on the port challenges initially defined.
With this presentation of the prototyping cells, the process of the Sprint phase ended, which consisted of three face-to-face workshops, in which the Innovation Agents carried out:
- 1st Workshop: Iterate
Decide how they wanted to perform the prototype and work with an expert who later collaborated in the realization of the prototype.
- 2nd Workshop: Prototyping
View the first phase of the prototype, retouch it and prepare the validation session with users.
- 3rd Workshop: Validate
Carry out the validation sessions with the final users to obtain their feedback in order to evolve the proposal, based on what was learnt.
In addition to the three face-to-face sessions, the innovation agents participating in each prototyping cell have worked and coordinated in a virtual way through the Som-Inn Port digital platform, in order to advance their prototypes and prepare their presentations for the 5th session of the Agora.

During the last session of the Agora of Som-Inn Port, the innovation agents participating in each prototyping cell presented their results:
Prototyping Cell: Movement Data Management (MDM)
Challenge: How could we help a logistics manager of a Port company to obtain real-time information (from the different agents) in order to plan logistics operations without time-outs?
Prototype presented: MDM. Video about the proposal of a logistic management platform based on Big Data, which helps the Port Community to face the new common and special challenges.

Prototyping Cell: Connecta’t
Challenge: How to help the talented young citizen of Tarragona, to feel part of the Port and to help it become perceived as a source of value for their personal and professional development?
Prototype presented: Connecta’t. Interactive mock-up of the digital platform in order to connect the needs and motivation of young people with the work and leisure offered by the Port.

Challenge: How could we improve the experience of female port users, through a first port woman friendly initiative?

Prototyping Cell: Port Point Service
Challenge: How could we improve our relationship with truck drivers and carriers, to help them solve their basic needs, as well as to achieve their personal aspirations?
Prototype presented: Point Port Service (PPS). Model of a physical area of a set-up which consists of three containers with first necessity services for the regular users of the port.

After the respective presentations (pitches), each prototyping cell responded to the questions put forward by the attendees. The innovation agents received their feedback and also their congratulations for the good work carried out.
At the end of the four presentations, Ramón Ignacio García, General Manager of the TPA addressed some words to the members of Som-Inn Port and congratulated the innovation agents that participated in this phase of Sprint, within the framework of open innovation pilot cycle of Som-Inn Port.

The open innovation pilot cycle ends. And now what?
As the open innovation pilot cycle of Som-Inn Port has finished, the next steps to be carried out will be:
- Evaluation of the prototyping process, through a digital survey among the participants.
- Timely support for the start of the projects which are decided to be carried out, through the support of some members or collaborator of Som-Inn Port like: Tarragona Impulsa, ACCIÓ, CDTI, Ports of the State, etc.
- Proposals for new innovation challenges. The TPA, the members of Som-Inn Port and the Port Community will be able to propose new challenges for the next cycle of open innovation. On the Som-Inn Port platform there is a section in order to make proposals through a form. Of the proposals received, the TPA may decide which challenges meet the requirements to be dealt with within the framework of Som-Inn Port.
- Training in innovation to choose. In order to continue promoting the culture of innovation, in addition to the training that takes place during the different workshops, the members of Som-Inn Port will be able to choose, by means of voting, three specific training sessions which generate the most interest. These training sessions will be carried out on three specific dates from the period from September to December of this year.
- Strategic re-orientation of Som-Inn Port. With the results of the satisfaction survey carried out at the end of the co-creation phase (Design Thinking), with the results obtained from the survey that will be carried out now on the prototype phase (Design Sprint), and of the lessons learnt during the pilot cycle, a strategic re-orientation for the next open innovation cycle of Som-Inn Port can be carried out.
