On Wednesday, February 12, the 8th CAT SUD Investment Forum was held at FiraReus, organized by ACCIÓ – Agència per la Competitivitat de l’Empresa de la Generalitat de Catalunya, the Universitat Rovira i Virgili, the Diputació de Tarragona, the Ajuntament de Tarragona and the Ajuntament de Reus, with the aim of providing a meeting space for the entrepreneurial and investment ecosystem in Southern Catalonia.

Throughout the day, a total of six innovative business projects in different sectors developed in the south of Catalonia were presented. Firstly, the SMART BIOHOME digital platform was unveiled, which automates the management of orders, deliveries and storage of biomass to heat buildings; then, it was the turn of the natural, sustainable and inclusive cosmetics brand NAWÏ, designed for conscious consumers and the LGBTQ+ community, and continued with the TARRANIX optical chip., which uses revolutionary technology that significantly reduces the necessary circuitry and power consumption and increases computing power.
After this first block of presentations, the day continued with the round table “Investing to grow together: value and connection”, moderated by Mónica Boquera, coordinator of the Regions of Knowledge Programme in Tarragona and Terres de l’Ebre, which included the interventions of Marc Arza, CEO of StartSUD Studio; Marta Alsinella, director of Economists; Julià Navarrete, co-founder of Eagora; Vanessa Troncho, CEO of T-Valley, and Robin Decaux, co-founder and CEO of Equito.

The day ended with the second and final block of presentations of innovative business projects: the BIOPHENOLICS nutraceutical products, from components of natural origin, which take advantage of the benefits of polyphenols; the FAST INNOVATION business innovation platform through AI, which helps companies solve complex problems and generate solutions with impact; and NANOCHRONIA, which develops and commercializes systems that integrate solid-state nanostructured sensors for the selective detection of gases, including hydrogen, methane, ammonia and hydrogen sulfide.

From SOM-INN PORT we wanted to be present at this 8th CAT SUR Investment Forum because we believe that it is a very important platform to publicize those innovative business ideas developed in the territory.
