The AEC Innovation Community, a member of SOM-INN PORT, has organized the FFUTURO awards for the first time. These awards recognise the work of companies and organisations that, through an innovative project, seek to prosper and improve, with the aim of connecting ideas and people, focusing on achieving a positive impact on both the company and society, accelerating progress and moving towards the future.
The objectives of the awards are:

Recognize the best innovation experiences of the last two years, focusing on the value and impact obtained by the organization in economic, social, etc. terms.

We must also recognize experiences that, although they have not achieved the successes described in the previous paragraph, have also generated great learning.
The prizes have three modalities:

FFUTURO Multiplica: Award for the innovation project that multiplies the value of your organization.

FFUTURO Open Innovation: Award for the project that connects with startups, corporations, knowledge and research centers.

FFUTURO Descubre: Award for an innovative project that has failed, but that helps to discover new opportunities and learning.
SOM-INN PORT with EURECAT, also a member of our open innovation ecosystem, presented the candidacy of the NasApp project for the Open Innovation modality.
The NasApp project is a multi-layer data SaaS platform capable of integrating the olfactory sensory perception of citizens in real time in order to act as an early warning system for critical events and environmental monitoring by determining the source, overcoming the limitations of current equipment that does not allow possible episodes of bad odours to be quantified in situ with the precision of human smell. The pilot for port environments is currently being developed in the Port of Tarragona. You can find more information about the Nasapp Project at the SOM-INN PORT Observatory.
On October 20, the first gala of the FFUTURO INNOVATION Awards 2023 took place and SOM-INN PORT and NasApp attended.
AEC Innovation Community Governance Team
In the Open Innovation category, the company Panel Sistemas was awarded for its project “Evoltrue”, an initiative in services and solutions to make an effective DevSecOps, integrating security from the beginning in software development, with the aim of helping organizations to face the security of their applications without generating delays in projects or affecting the “Time to Market”.

Aena was awarded in the Multiply category for its innovation project, called “Uso de drones, 5G e inteligencia artificial para la detección de FODs en aeropuertos de Aena“, which manages to multiply the value of the organisation. Through the use of drones, they have improved the detection of FODs (Foreign Object Damage) on airport runways, reducing operating costs, increasing safety, and reducing CO2 emissions.

Finally, in the Discover category, Fagor Ederland was recognized for its project “Calidad predictiva a partir de los parámetros de fabricación “. Despite not being developed, this project has provided them with learning to discover and develop new lines of work.
SOM-INN PORT would like to congratulate the winners and the ACS Innovation Community for organising these awards.
The participation of SOM-INN PORT and EURECAT in these awards with the NasAPP project has represented a very enriching experience and the possibility of giving more visibility and relevance to this innovative project.
