Project leader
The project manager is the Catalan startup Fregata Space.
Project description
The Catalan startup Fregata Space has been selected by the Dutch startup acceleration programme PORTXL, the accelerator specialised in maritime ports. The startup will carry out a study on the number of pollutants present in the water of the Port of Rotterdam, the largest in Europe.
Fregata Space has created software that, through techniques based on Big Data, Machine Learning and new spatial technologies, collects and analyses information on the degree of water pollution in different areas. Its monitoring platform makes it possible to access historical information, view indicators in real time, make predictions, set alerts and track pollution anywhere in the world.
Fregata’s software is aimed at public entities and administrations responsible for water management, but also at private companies such as ports, shipping companies, meat companies, oil companies and nuclear power plants, among others.
Project objectives
The aim of the project is to assess the level of water pollution in the Port of Rotterdam by implementing the monitoring platform of the startup Fregata Space.
