Project description
PortXchange has launched a new platform called PortXchange EmissionInsider in collaboration with BigMile, a calculation and analysis company from the Netherlands.
The new application helps to track and report emissions. The Port of Rotterdam has initially led the project for the development of this platform which makes it possible to visualise the emissions of all modes of transport. It thus helps to identify the sources of emissions and to develop a specific approach to reduce them.
Project objectives
The platform was created to identify all transport related emissions in the Port of Rotterdam across all modes in order to establish emission reduction strategies and achieve its decarbonisation objectives. PortXchange has now made it available to all ports globally with the intention of standardising reporting and working with other port authorities on the decarbonisation of the shipping industry.
