The sponsor of the launch of this autonomous drone is the Port of Antwerp. It was developed in collaboration with DroneMatrix.
Project description
This first autonomous drone is part of the “Port of the Future” initiative that aims to launch new innovations in the Port environment. An entire operational network of autonomous drones will be deployed in 2022.
In addition to covering the 120 km2 surface, this drone will also fly on demand for emergencies. It is loaded through a docking station that is centrally managed through a web platform.
Project objective
The drone will be used to test various use cases such as: Inspection of infrastructure, monitoring, dock management and detection of oil or debris spills
