Agora

The Agora is the main management tool for the Innovation Ecosystem and all the members of Som-Inn Port form part of it. Its aim is to monitor the development of the five core principles of the model of innovation and to approve the proposals of the Innovation Commission.

The Agora meets five times a year, approximately every 2 months, coinciding with the face-to-face training sessions.

Innovation commission

The Innovation Commission is the Som-Inn Port management tool that is responsible for ensuring the proper functioning and coordination of the Port of Tarragona’s Innovation Ecosystem, as well as the quality of the contents of the cycle of innovation. It proposes improvements or changes that will subsequently be approved by the Agora.

It consists of a selection of institutions/organisations that are members of Som-Inn Port and the Tarragona Port Authority, with a maximum of 7 representatives at all times. The Innovation Commission meets about four times a year in order to discuss the following content:

  • Managing membership applications.
  • Monitoring the status of the innovation cycle processes and projects.
  • Managing improvements, incidents and proposals.
  • Prioritising and proposing innovation challenges.
  • Prioritising and proposing innovation projects.
  • Proposing experts who may be required by the programme for agile development of prototypes and pilots.
  • Proposing the budget.

Innovation Agent cells

The Innovation Agents participate in Som-Inn Port by means of different cells during the innovation cycle. There are two kinds of cells:

Competitive vigilance cells   Innovation cells

Competitive vigilance cells

These are teams consisting of approximately three or four Som-Inn Port Agents of Innovation who have a common interest about what research to carry out in order to bring to light the challenges that are resolved in the cycle of innovation. Competitive vigilance cells are self-regulating and participate digitally via the open innovation platform.

  Innovation cells

The innovation cells are teams consisting of approximately four or five Som-Inn Port Innovation Agents who employ Design Thinking and Sprint methodology to resolve the challenges brought to light by competitive vigilance.

External collaborators’ cells

The external collaborators’ cells are a network of people and organisations that are not members of Som-Inn Port, but who are interested in collaborating with the Innovation Ecosystem in order to support the competitive vigilance cells or the innovation cells at specific moments of the innovation cycle.
