Project Leader

The project leader is COSCO Shipping

Description of the project

The project driven by COSCO Shipping focuses on the development of a digital supply chain platform for the automotive industry in shipping. This platform seeks to address the transportation challenges faced by this type of industry by integrating digital technologies.

The platform uses technologies such as the Internet of Things (IoT), Big data, artificial intelligence and the 5G network to seamlessly connect all aspects of the automotive industry. It offers 157 routes connecting more than 60 ports worldwide and provides 310 end-to-end digital supply chain products, including end-to-end transportation, warehousing, customs declaration, transportation, unloading and PDI (Pre Delivery Inspection) testing services.

The platform’s logistics services are specifically designed to meet the needs of the automotive industry. In addition, it incorporates intelligent technologies to automatically calculate carbon emissions from transportation and actively participate in the comprehensive assessment of International Maritime Organization regulations.

This platform has been recognized at the North Bund 2023 International Shipping Forum, where industry representatives and experts, port and shipping companies, research institutes and industry associations from around the world discussed the current development, challenges, and future opportunities of the shipping industry.

This pioneering approach improves efficiency and sustainability in automobile transport and fosters closer collaboration between ports and manufacturing industry, thus strengthening the competitiveness of the port sector, and contributing to global development.

Objectives of the project

The objectives of the project driven by COSCO Shipping are to develop a digital supply chain platform to strengthen collaboration between ports and manufacturing industry, improve efficiency and sustainability in automobile transportation, and contribute to the global development and competitiveness of the port sector.
