The strategic and operational framework to drive innovation over the coming years, aligned with Puertos del Estado, Ports 4.0, sustainability and digital transformation.
Pla Innovare
During the second half of 2025, the Port of Tarragona's new 2025-2030 Innovation Plan, known as Pla Innovare, was drawn up. This plan was approved by the Port Authority's Board of Directors on 17 December 2025.

Advanced digitalisation
IoT, AI, Big Data, digital twins, blockchain and automation for port management, traceability and decision-making.
Sustainability
Quay electrification, renewables, energy optimisation, self-consumption, circular economy, green mobility and emission reduction.
Efficiency and safety
Improving logistics competitiveness, minimising times, costs and congestion; a smart, syncromodal port, optimising space and cargo flows; technologies to improve intermodal coordination and last-mile transport.

Petrochemicals in transition
Green and circular chemistry, new fuels, decarbonisation, high-value specialities.
Bulk and food
Agri-food logistics, grains, feed, fertilisers and opportunities in the ZAL.
Blue economy
Marine biotechnology and energy, smart fishing, underwater robotics, water quality.
Cruises and Tourism
Passengers, provisioning, tourism sustainability and connection with the Costa Daurada.
