SOM-INN PORT attended SIL Barcelona 2026, the leading international trade fair for logistics, transport, intralogistics and supply chain, held from 3 to 5 June at Pavilion 8 of the Montjuïc–Plaça Espanya exhibition centre of Fira de Barcelona.
SIL Barcelona has established itself as one of the main meeting points for the logistics sector, bringing together companies, professionals, institutions and key stakeholders from across the entire value chain. This year’s edition featured more than 600 participating companies, 250 speakers, 15,000 visitors with 30% international attendance, and 150 events.
SOM-INN PORT’s participation at SIL provided an opportunity to gain first-hand insight into the trends transforming logistics and transport, as well as to identify innovative solutions that can address current challenges in the port-logistics sector, driving new models of management, efficiency and decision-making.

SIL placed a strong focus on the application of artificial intelligence, big data, IoT and blockchain, with more than 160 innovations presented as world exclusives. This edition featured new innovation and talent spaces such as SIL Lab by SAP and the IA Corner, where interactive debates, live demonstrations, success stories and workshops were held. Around 80 startups participated in SIL, showcasing their solutions in the field of Logistics 4.0.

At SIL Lab, demonstrations, use cases, inspirational talks and hands-on workshops were organised. This space showcased technological solutions related to the digital supply chain, intralogistics and transport, highlighting the role of technology as a key driver of sector transformation.

This year’s IA Corner also featured innovations related to AI-driven logistics decision-making, drone-based air logistics, computer vision for cranes, fully electric loading docks, automated measurement of oversized cargo, and solutions focused on energy efficiency and sustainability.

The 16th edition of the SIL Logistics Circle Barometer reinforced several of the sector’s key priorities. According to the study, 75% of companies consider artificial intelligence an ally for improving logistics operations, while rising transport costs remain one of the main challenges. Sustainability also continues to play a major role in logistics decision-making.
SIL 2026 also hosted the Job Market Place, a networking event connecting companies and professionals from various backgrounds to fill positions related to the logistics sector, and the Investor Day, where the finalist startups of the SIL Startup Innovation Hub presented their projects.
The Port of Tarragona participated in SIL by organising several events at its stand. On 3 June, the Tarragona-Lleida working group of the Barcelona Centre Logístic (BCL) was officially established, presenting this new territorial collaboration initiative aimed at strengthening logistics competitiveness, intermodality and synergies among the different actors of the logistics chain.

On 4 June, the presentation event for the new concession of the multipurpose terminal at the Andalusia Wharf of the Port of Tarragona to COSCO and PTP took place. This initiative is considered strategic for the development of both the Port of Tarragona and the wider region.
