Competitive vigilance is the search for information about a specific field that makes it possible to analyse the current state of knowledge in this field and the prospects for the future, in order to bring to light any challenges, which may be of interest to Som-Inn Port. This process is carried out all the year round by means of competitive vigilance cells.

Co-innovation through Design Thinking

At Som-Inn Port the Innovation Agents co-innovate using the Design Thinking methodology based on a sound knowledge of the client or user. Six annual workshops are held, in which open-mindedness prevails and the results are filtered until a validated concept is achieved, in order to respond to the challenges posed.

Agile development of prototypes

Som-Inn Port’s Innovation Agents develop prototypes by employing the Sprint methodology. They generate a minimum viable product with limited resources to get rapid feedback from users. This is done in 5 sessions to accelerate the best projects resulting from co-innovation and, if appropriate, experts in different fields are included to support the teams.

Training in innovation

Som-Inn Port’s Innovation Agents draw up a training programme of 5 sessions per year, which make it possible to progress in culture, methods and tools of innovation in order to establish common knowledge base among the Innovation Agents.

Networking between Som-Inn Port members’ Innovation Agents

The Innovation Agents exchange ideas at Agora meetings. These are monitoring and networking meetings to find out what other members are doing, what the competitive vigilance and innovation cells are doing and to share experiences, best practices, etc. These networking dynamics vary from session to session and there is the possibility of external agents intervening as an inspiring element (collaborators, start-ups, students, etc.).
